The experience went beyond just the hunting. The food was outstanding—authentic Mexican meals throughout the trip, capped off with an awesome steak dinner on the final night. Everyone in our group tagged a great bird, and we had a blast together, building friendships and sharing stories none of us will forget.
Phillip mentioned the birds were acting a little slow due to a weather front, but honestly, you couldn’t have convinced me of that—we had birds around us every single day. It felt like we could have tagged out daily. That just speaks to how well-prepared Phillip is and how well he knows his properties—right down to where the birds roost and where they want to go.
All in all, this was truly a dream come true. Finishing my Royal Slam with a group like this was the icing on the cake. Thank you, Phillip and Jose Luis—I hope I get the chance to run those mountains with you again next year.
