2015 Gould's Turkey Hunt-Bob and Carole

We had a awesome time hunting Gould's turkeys with husband and wife, Bob and Carole, from Paradise Valley.  Bob was able to harvest his turkey on the first afternoon with his bow by shooting the bird just above the waddles with a magnus bullhead broadhead.  After the shot the bird basically didn't know what happened and kept beating on the DSD jake decoy.  See the video below.  Carole doubled on two beautiful Gould's turkeys the next afternoon.  See her hunt video below as well.

2015 Gould's Turkey Hunt-Preston and Donald

Our second group of Gould's turkey hunters was with Donald and Preston, who are hunting buddies from back east.  On the first afternoon after getting to the ranch we went out to hunt and roost birds.  They got a double about one hour apart.  The Dave Smith Decoys got punished on these hunts by the big Gould's.  See the videos below (Part 1-2).  Then the next morning, we went out together and Donald got his second bird off of the roost (Part 3).  That afternoon, Preston and I went out for the afternoon hunt where we had heard some different gobblers and it wasn't long before he had his second Gould's turkey (Part 4).  Hunter and I, had a great time hunting with these guys and look forward to doing it again.

2015 Gould's Turkey Hunt-Ronell Ainley

We had an awesome start to the 2015 Mexico Gould's Turkey Hunt season!  My good friends, Craig and Ronell Ainley made the trek from California to try and get Ronell her first Gould's Turkey.  We roosted a couple of birds the night before the opening day and the plan was set for a 3:00am wakeup.  We decided the birds that Hunter Haynes and the ranch owner had roosted were better suited for our morning approach.  We snuck in tight to the roost in the dark and waited for God's sunrise to wake the gobbling birds.  Click on the video below the photos to watch the morning hunt unfold.  Congrats to Ronell on her beautiful Gould's turkey.
